In re: today's Corner Gas

1. Brent Butt has had his teeth whitened to TV standards. Perfectly normal thing to do if you're going to be on TV (I'd totally get it done if I had to be on TV even once, but I'm insecure that way), but it looks WAY out of character. Brent would never get his teeth whitened.

2. My mother's lasagna recipe totally involves the food processor. I can't figure out how you'd make lasagna without one.

I only watch CG on re-runs, so I don't know what season this applies to, but in one season all the women are wearing way too much obvious makeup.

Why would Wanda wear so much makeup to work in a gas station mini mart? Why would Emma wear so much make up to make lunch for Oscar or hang out at The Ruby?

It must look even more ridiculous in hi-def.

Also, I would like to leave a comment about the hamster, but the comment link doesn't work.

So I'll leave it here:

OMG Hamster!

I'd also like to send the link to someone, but it won't let me do that either.

1. I assumed Emma's was a deliberate character statement. Wanda's I didn't question because I wore more makeup than that to serve coffee in a gas station back in the day, but now that I think about it Lacey should be wearing more noticeable makeup than Wanda. People will accept any baseline the makeup artists set out (women on Star Trek always wore mad crazy eyeshadow and no one commented on it) but the characters need to be in character in relation to each other.

2. I don't know what that little hamster did to my links. But if you click on the video once it will start playing, and then if you click on it again the youtube page will open in a new window. You can link to it that way.

1. True.

2. Thanks.

3. I'm impressed that you wore makeup to serve coffee. I can't be bothered to wear makeup for almost anything.

I don't have the confidence to go to work without makeup, especially if I have to work with the public. I couldn't even go grocery shopping without makeup until I was like 22.
