Peter Mansbridge is saying that Barack Obama is looking cool and confident and composed.
That's not what I'm seeing. To me it looks like he's quite obviously trying very very hard to look cool and confident and composed but is really somewhere between ecstatic and terrified.

Interesting. I thought he looked very cool and composed, too.
It must be pretty surreal, for anybody. There have been other presidents with humble backgrounds (Clinton, Truman, eg), I always figure it must be extra surreal for them.
To me it looked like he was doing that thing where you keep pressing your lips together and swallowing to maintain control over your facial expression. Not that there's anything wrong with that - I'd be shitting my pants and sweating my way through my shirt.
